Here´s an interesting question we were posed today. Who are the richest gambling tycoons in the world, that is to say- of all the tycoons and taipans that run casinos and are involved in gambling in some sort of way, who are the big hitters?
Well, we are sure that this is not an exhaustive list, but the list will definitely include these fellas (sorry girls, they are all fellas)
Sheldon Adelson, US
Chairman and EEO of the Las Vegas Sands Corp., the parent of Venetian Macao Limited which runs The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino and the Sands Expo and Convention Center. The No.1 Casino man on the planet.
Stanley Ho, Macau & Hong Kong
A.k.a Ho Hung-sun, Stanley Ho is often known as “The King of Gambling”, thanks to the monopoly he controlled in Macau for 4 decades.
Lim Goh Tong, Malaysia.
Lim Goh Tong was a prominent wealthy Malaysian Chinese businessman (he died in 2007). He developed the Genting Highlands into one of the world’s most successful casino resorts. He was at one time the richest man in Malaysia,with net worth of over US$4.22 billion.
Steve Wynn, US
Stephen Wynn (born 1942) is an Us casino resort mogul who was key in the redevelopment of the Las Vegas Strip in the 90s. He owns the Golden Nugget, The Mirage, Treasure Island, Bellagio, Wynn, and Encore.
In 2009, his net worth was approx. $1.5 billion.

Kazuo Okada, Japan.
On the Board of Directors of Wynn Macau, Limited. Builds pachislot and pachinko machines, amusement machines, and video games. Also a Director, President, Secretary and Treasurer of Aruze Gaming America, Inc.
William Boyd, US
Bill Boyd founded Boyd Gaming Corporation in 1974 with his dad, Sam Boyd. A practicing lawyer for 15 years, he turned his gifts to the gambling business full-time in 1975, and has since run Boyd Gaming properties in he United States, including casinos in Nevada, Mississippi, New Jersey, Illinois, Indiana and Louisiana.
Oleg Boyko, Russia
Now full time in the gambling business and opening slots arcades and casinos in Russia, the Baltics, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Italy, Germany, the U.S. and Latin America.
Anurag Dikshit
Expet more and more online gambling tycoons to hit this list in hte coming years. Dikshit (born 1972) is the richest man in Gibraltar and co-founder of PartyGaming, owner of online poker site PartyPoker.com. He is one of the freshest faced billionaires in the world having completely sold off his stake in Partygaming in 2010. In December 2008, Dikshit pleaded guilty to illegal Internet gambling and entered a plea of online gambling in violation of the Federal Wire Act and agreed to cough up $300 million. His current fortune is still estimated to be $1 billion, so don´t feel too sorry for him. But what he does in Gib, is anyone´s guess (I guess he has a fancy boat though).
Hajime Satomi, Japan.
Hajime Satomi was born in Japan in 1942 and is the founder of Sammy Corporation,which owns Sega, a world-renowned producer of arcade and software games. They have recently launched an online casino.
Han Chang-Woo, Japan.
Korean by birth- owns Maruhan, Japan’s largest pachinko arcade owner. Has also opened hotel casino in Macau to ride on the current casino boom there.
Frank Fertitta III
His dad, Frank Fertitta Jr., was a dealer for Stardust Casino in Las Vegas, and subsequently opened The Casino 1976 away from The Strip. Frank III became chairman and CEO as now runs 15 casinos with Lorenzo, his brother, including Green Valley Ranch & Red Rocks Casinos.
