Chelsea FC Champions League Odds Go South
Well- we thought we would throw in some sports news for a change for all you footie fans out there. If you like betting on The champions League, the bookies have had a relook at the odds they are offering on Chelsea winning their first Champions League after the Blues failed to beat lowly CFR Cluj from Romania.
Luiz Felipe Scoalri's team only grabbed a single point in the game following big wins by their rivals Arsenal and Manchester United. Tthey are still top dogs (from the bookie´s perspective anyway) to get their hands on the cup but the odds have moved to 9/2 down from 4/1 before the game, a price offered by Totesport.
Last year, Totesport moved its
online casino operations offshore to Alderney in a move that was seen as highly embarrasing for New Labour- they´ll be able to run ads in the UK without incurring the 15% gaming tax, as Alderney sits within the white list of UK gambling jurisdictions. Following the Gambling Act in 2005, the online casino industry industry has by and large avoided the UK.
Gordon Brown´s 15% "remote gaming duty," was called "a joke," by one industry veteran. The UK is thought to be the biggest legal marketplace for online poker and online casinos globally. While other countries have moved to block this activity, somewhat unsuccessfully (such as the US with its Port Bill), the UK has sought to regulate the market in an attempt to safeguard consumers and earn tax pounds.
