Wolverhampton Casino Applies For Licence to Open

Posted on June 20th, 2014

Licensing chiefs in Wolverhampton in the UK will make a decision on a planning application for a new £4m Wolverhampton casino next week which claims it will ‘ offer something for everyone’
The casino will be called Casino36 (something to do with the number of pockets on a roulette table maybe?) after the operating company which operates the Rubicon Casino in Wolverhampton, the Castle Casino in Dudley and another Casino 36 in Stockport.

Adrian Ballard, a director at Casino 36 Ltd, claimed the casino will help boost the local economy, especially at night.

It would be a big step up from their exiting casino in the city: Rubicon in Temple Street. The building would be renovated and expanded into the empty plt next door which used to be The Dorchester.

Up to 133 new jobs will be created.

Wolverhampton Racecourse were going to build the UK’s first ‘Racino’ in the City but backed away

Mr Ballard said: “There will bea high class restaurant, sports bar and darts, pool and snooker. “The casino would open 24/7.

The company has also given £36,000 to the Wolverhampton City Council, to be spent in the community for counselling programmes and community initiatives.
