Best Casinos in Scotland

genting leith edinburghWe’ve done a few articles on the best casinos in Las Vegas, and one or two on venues in London Town like The Hippodrome, Leicester Square. But what about Bonnie Scotland? What’s the best casino north of the border?

Well, we’d head to Edinburgh first off, and in particular to Genting Casino, Leith. You won’t get Las Vegas glamour here (it is Leith!), but you are more than likely going to have a great night out here- it’s particularly good for people new to the games. It’s very casual (no stuffiness here), and there are plenty of games (poker, roulette and slots).

Also in Edinburgh, is a somewhat smaller and cosier affair called the Maybury Casino. This has some great slots and around a dozen tables, which makes for a buzzy atmosphere. Play poker, blackjack and roulette or Texas hold ‘em poker here. They often host poker tournaments.

Heading west, we get to The Alea in Glasgow which is owned by Caesars Casinos – they manage to sprinkle some of that Vegas glamour to Glasgow. It’s a modern casino- all glitz, and a cracking night out with bars and restaurants for when you are taking a rest from the tables. There’s also a VIP gaming room for the high rollers among you. Head here for blackjack, poker and roulette. It’s doesn’t cost anything to get in (you don’t need to join a club or anything) and the staff are friendly.

Aberdeen
Heading north to Scotland’s version of Dallas with all that oil money, is the Soul Casino in Aberdeen. This casino is small but cosy. They have slot machines, roulette and blackjack, but no cash poker games. And of course, the building is made out of granite like the rest of Aberdeen!
